Eatery #1: Eat at 20 new restaurants/bakeries/eateries (4/20) - Okay, I just realized I’m doing this out of order. I really ought to do these recollections the day that I try them, but I tend to forget. Luckily, I had a list stashed away :)
Oddly enough, I just tried Crab Hut for the first time. Yes, the Crab Hut that’s in the same lot as Tapioca Express, Yogurt World, Crepe World (!?), and Tofu House. Oh, and O’Briens, which I’ve yet to go to one day. I used to go in this general area a lot, but the parking there’s horrendous. EXPAND THE PARKING!
Anyway, I came here to celebrate my big bro Bao’s birthday and I had no clue what I was getting myself into. Firstly, I’d never had crawfish before. Second, I didn’t even know how to open up a crawfish and eat it. I had to go through Crawfish 101 before attempting to eat my meal. Speaking of which, I ordered a shrimp and crawfish mix with 1/2 medium spice and garlic butter. Big plus for them having Stone IPA!
After ogling at the adorable cooked crawfish, I had to give in and eat the little buggers. They were pretty tasty, but I feel like they didn’t satisfy me enough. Many people tell me that the Boiling Crab up in the OC’s a lot better, so I’ll be looking forward to that in the event I ever make it up there (coughcough).
